About

Banshee Press is a small independent Irish publisher that produces a twice-yearly literary journal, Banshee, as well as a select list of books. Banshee Press was founded in 2014 by three writers: Laura Cassidy, Claire Hennessy and Eimear Ryan.

In 2024, Banshee Press was selected as the island of Ireland winner in the Small Press of the Year Award at the Nibbies, The Bookseller’s annual publishing awards.

The Journal

Banshee is a print literary journal published twice a year – in spring and autumn – and features short stories, flash fiction, poetry and personal essays. Our first issue launched in September 2015, and our most recent is #18, the autumn/winter 2024 issue.

If you would like to send your work to Banshee, please view our submission guidelines. To get a sense of the kind of writing we publish, read work from our previous issues.

The Press

The Banshee Press list launched in September 2019 to publish the very best in Irish fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Our authors include Bebe Ashley, Dylan Brennan, Lucy Sweeney Byrne, Gustav Parker Hibbett, Claire-Lise Kieffer, Mary Morrissy, Deirdre Sullivan, Rosamund Taylor and David Toms.

We are not currently open for unsolicited submissions.
